Crème Brûlée French Toast

An indulgent twist on a classic breakfast favorite, perfect for weekends.

  • 1 loaf brioche bread
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup turbinado sugar
  • 6 slices turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Slice the brioche bread into thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and salt.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and cook the soaked bread until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Sprinkle turbinado sugar on top of each slice and caramelize using a kitchen torch.
  6. In a separate pan, cook the turkey bacon until crispy.
  7. Serve the French toast topped with crispy bacon.

Notes

  • Using a kitchen torch can give a perfect caramelized finish.
  • Let the bread soak longer for a richer flavor.
